audiometry
biomed kitchen specialises in remote servicing calibration and maintenance of medical audiometry equipment. Our team travels with precision test-equipment and performs certified calibration and repair according to the relevant standards, including device management standards AS3551:2018 and audiometry device and calibration standards IEC60645:2017-series and ISO389-series.
Training as a service (TAAS)
It is not enough to teach people skills and hope that they stay around and apply them; It is not acceptable to depend on fly-in technical expertise whenever something fails. In TAAS:
The technical support is embedded in infrastructure and place
Skills are developed through problem-based learning
Knowledge is anchored to the equipment that needs the support
TAAS is designed for health posts and remote clinics where high-end skills are needed for a small number of specialised devices.
Visual asset management
biomed kitchen has developed custom medical-device database management software called AudioMed for remote clinical teams to use.
Its map-based interface shows the location and condition of all audiometry devices in real-time. We know that asset tracking in remote regions can be challenging. We know that device users want to know if and when their equipment will be ready for use. We know that text-driven databases are tedious and difficult for clinical teams to interpret. We know what works, and we do it better.
Innovation and research
Did you know that dialysis and audiometry have something in common? The cells in the kidney’s nephron and the cells in the ear’s cochlea are both susceptible to similar diseases.
biomed kitchen is working with Susannah Soon and students at Curtin University to develop a screening audiometry instrument that can continuously monitor for sensorineural hearing loss in dialysis patients during treatment.
